PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
My professional experience has been varied over the years. However, I have always been involved with trial work in some manner or another. For approximately 17 years I represented insurance companies as trial counsel for those large corporations or their insureds.
For the past 17 years, after moving my practice from Dayton to Troy, I have represented individuals and businesses by assisting them in presenting their insurance claims (e.g. personal injury or wrongful death) or compelling the coverages for which they already paid when wrongly denied.
I also served, over the years, as trial counsel in a variety of commercial law and business cases(e.g. contracts, banking, civil rights/employment claims).
In the course of all these professional relationships, I have tried over 100 jury cases, over and above the hundreds of cases I negotiated to an amicable resolution.
My extensive courtroom experience was invaluable in developing my skills and understanding to most effectively represent clients for optimum results in juvenile court, domestic relations court and criminal court. Also, as your local lawyer, you can trust with confidence sensitive issues that arisen when divorce, custody or DUI are involved.
In addition to insurance law and general trial practice, I have, in various capacities, represented numerous municipalities both in court and as counsel outside the courtroom. Those municipalities include, the City of Akron, City of Oakwood, City of Miamisburg, City of Centerville, City of Beavercreek, City of Huber Heights and City of Dayton.
As a general practitioner in a small town, I advise local businesses on a variety of issues important to their operation including personnel, contract negotiation and risk management. My years of experience with commercial litigation give me the best experience to provide the highest level of legal counseling and service for these hometown businesses.
I also counsel individuals on their will preparation and estate planning, representing them in Probate Court when there is a loss of a loved one or other need in that Court.
With this background and my prior association with larger firms in Dayton, I bring big firm experience to a small town practice. I look forward to meeting you and the opportunity to counsel and advise you with your legal issues.
